Karin Reda
Karin Reda was born in Vienna, the city of fine arts. After a musical education during her schooltime she studied flute at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.

During her studies she was the first flute of the “Österreichisches Bundesjugendorchester” for many years and she performed as soloist with the “Wiener Kammerorchester”. She appeared with the “Wiener Nonett” and she is a founding member of the “Vienna Flautists” with numerous concert tours, radio-, TV- and CD- productions. Furthermore she founded the Crossover-Trio "flauto di jazz", “Duo Melisande” (Flute/Harp)and the “Wind-Quintet SYRINX”.

Karin Reda played as 1st flute in the orchestra of the “opernwerkstatt wien” and she is member of “Capella Academica Wien” under Prof. Eduard Melkus.

Karin Reda was dean of the wind-instrument classes and teached flute at “Prayner Conservatory” and “Vienna Conservatory” and since 2008 she acts as Artistic Director of the „International Masterclasses Mistelbach“.

As a contracting author of the reknown traditional viennese music-editors “VERLAG DOBLINGER” she is currently publishing a series of elementary Flute-Methods under the trademark “BIRDYS FLÖTENWELT”.
Together with music-editors “MUSIKVERLAG TATZER” she ist publishing the “Flute – warm ups” and a series of didactical compositions for various flute-ensembles under the trademark “FLÖTENKOSMOS”.

In addition to joining numerous juries for competitions, she gives flute courses and workshops in Vienna, Japan and USA.

Due to her intensive cooperation with contemporary composers she received numerous dedications of compositions for flute.

Her exeptional merits in music conveyance, artistic performance and teaching have been rewarded with the title "Professor".
