Master Class Information

This master class will take place in the Vienna Conservatory and is targeted to all young musicians who are looking to bring their knowledge of music literature to a new and exciting level. There will be music lessons and presentations on various topics, such as musical styles, tones, and tips for auditions as well as for competitions.
Aside from the general technical questions about the instrument, there will be extra emphasis given on performance practice and stylistics.

Each of the active participant of the master class will receive 10 private lessons..

Luisa Sello, a very accomplished Italian flutist, will present on different practice methods from Marcel Moyse in the three day "Special- Flute Workshop".
At one of the exhibitions, The Wiener Flötenwerkstatt will offer any small repair service for the active members free of charge.

The accompanists for the master class will be Yasuhito Watanabe and György Handl.

Aside from the private lessons, Flute Ensemble (directed by Karin Reda), Mixed Chamber Music Groups (Laszlo Gereb) as well as Jazz Theory and Jazz Ensemble are all very important components of the master class.

“Crossover-Sessions” between participants in the classes of the Jazz department and the classic department are appreciated and expected.

The Jazz department also offers Ear-training courses, Breathing & Bodywork as well as Stage band. All participants from the other (classic) department can visit any of the courses.

At the conservatory, there will be practice rooms for participants. All arrangements will be processed through the main office.

  • Flute Workshop (from 24th - 26th of August) 90 Euros,-- (No application fees needed)
